MoMA Design Store announces the exclusive US launch of Arita 2016/, a new contemporary porcelain brand designed in collaboration with Japanese craftsmen. The collection combines the talents of ten potteries, renowned for their production of porcelain, with sixteen international designers. Arita 2016/ will debut at MoMA Design Store during NYCxDesign 2017 and will be available starting May 10, 2017.

Led by Creative Directors Teruhiro Yanagihara and Scholten & Baijings, the project aims to revive Arita's once robust ceramics industry dating back over four hundred years through a series of functional, desirable objects that celebrate porcelain in everyday use.

MoMA will showcase a selection of pieces from each of the sixteen designers, including Dutch designers: Christien MeindertsmaKirstie van Noort, Studio Wieki Somers and Scholten & Baijings with 2016/ Editions by Scholten & Baijings.
